Veteran Cop Trevor Honoured for Firearms Mastery
Trevor, a police officer for over 35 years, has been a heavyweight in firearms policing. Since 2017, he’s served as an MDP Superintendent, leading firearms capability development and training.
From Met Firearms Ace to National Leader
Before joining the Ministry of Defence Police (MDP), Trevor spent 32 years with the Metropolitan Police Service. For more than 20 of those years, he was at the sharp end as an operational Authorised Firearms Officer, firearms commander, and instructor. He’s one of the few officers nationally to have served across all ranks up to Chief Inspector in these roles.
His dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed. He’s earned multiple commendations for operational deployments, training delivery, and pioneering national armed policing capabilities.
Trevor’s Reaction to Top Award
“I am extremely honoured but also quite stunned to receive this award. I can only thank colleagues who deemed me worthy of nomination and acknowledge the many fantastic people I have worked with over the years and continue to work with today.”
Chief Constable Praises Police Legend
“I’m delighted to see Trevor recognised for the contribution he has made to policing over three decades. He is one of the most influential police leaders of his generation, particularly when it comes to police use of firearms.
Trevor has been involved in many high-profile operations and has driven key developments benefiting the service overall. He’s also been instrumental in training colleagues to perform their roles safely and lawfully.
His impact nationally and within both the Ministry of Defence Police and Metropolitan Police has been outstanding. I know I speak for everyone in the MDP as I congratulate Trevor and encourage him to savour this well-deserved recognition.”
