326 drivers nailed for speeding in Kent over two weeks!
Speed Traps Snag Thousands
Between 17 and 30 October, police hit the gas on cracking down speeding drivers. Officers slapped Traffic Offence Reports on 326 motorists caught breaking the limit. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg – automated mobile and static cameras clocked a whopping 3,138 more speeders.
Kent Police Lead the Charge
The National Police Chiefs’ Council spearheaded the crackdown. Kent’s Road Safety Unit hit notorious speeding hotspots, backed by roads policing teams and Special Constabulary volunteers. They’re on a mission to make Kent’s roads safer — and they’re not slowing down.
More Road Safety Ops Coming
Get ready for a double whammy of police action. Brake Road Safety Week starts on 14 November, followed by Operation Drive Insured on 21 November. Both will pack a punch tackling dangerous driving and uninsured vehicles.
Chief Inspector’s Warning
“Promoting road safety and preventing collisions is a year-round priority,” said Chief Inspector Craig West, Head of Roads Policing. “Too many people risk lives daily by speeding, not wearing seatbelts, using phones behind the wheel, or driving drunk. We won’t hesitate to take action.”
“We regularly target uninsured drivers too, often seizing vehicles. They’re a ticking time bomb on the roads. My message is simple – follow the rules and keep everyone safe.”
