Young Man Fatally Stabbed Near West London Mosque

A tragic stabbing has rocked Hounslow town centre after a 22-year-old man was fatally attacked near the Hounslow Muslim Centre on Hanworth Road.

Hounslow Muslim Centre Condemns Violence

The mosque quickly issued a statement to stress it has no connection to the incident, which unfolded at around 2.20pm on Sunday, 22 June. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a serious assault.

The victim, locally identified as Dara Sayed Barham, was rushed to hospital with stab wounds but sadly died shortly after.

A spokesperson from the mosque said: “Any loss of life is a tragedy. We are in touch with the victim’s family and are offering our support.”

The Hounslow Muslim Centre was advised by police to close temporarily while the area was secured as a crime scene, with forensic teams investigating on site. Nearby bus routes have been diverted.

Police Confirm No Link to Mosque

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed no evidence ties the stabbing to the mosque itself. They stressed that those involved did not enter the building. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command has taken charge of the investigation.

Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley urged anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the attack to come forward. He said:

“This happened in a busy part of Hounslow in broad daylight. It’s crucial we hear from anyone who saw what happened.”

Community Stands Against Violence

The mosque warned the public to beware of online misinformation surrounding the stabbing. They reaffirmed their commitment to peace.

“Violence has no place in our community. Hounslow Muslim Centre remains dedicated to working with all partners to build a safer society for everyone.”

The Centre asked for prayers for Dara Sayed Barham and his family and promised to update the community once it reopens.
