Police Hunt Silver Mercedes After Schoolboy Hit and Run in Gillingham
Police are hunting a driver who hit a schoolboy then fled the scene in Gillingham on Wednesday evening. The boy suffered horrific injuries after being struck on King Street at around 6:10pm.
Schoolboy Suffers Triple Leg Break
The teenager was left with his leg broken in three places after being knocked down by a silver Mercedes CLK. Witnesses say the driver sped off before police arrived.
Emergency Services Rush to the Scene
A Kent Police spokesman confirmed: “Officers were called to King Street, Gillingham at 6.21pm on Wednesday, 22 January 2020 after reports of a collision involving a teenage pedestrian and a car.”
South East Coast Ambulance Service treated the boy before taking him to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
