Hampshire Diver Goes Missing Off Lulworth Cove
Carvalho Ildelindo da Silveira, a man in his 60s from Bramdean, Hampshire, vanished while diving at Lulworth Cove on Saturday, 7 August 2021. He was last spotted in the water around 4.15pm but wasn’t reported missing until 8.15pm when concern grew.
Urgent Search Underway
Described as just 5ft 2in tall, bald with a large white moustache, Carvalho has been the subject of an intense multi-agency search. Dorset Police Chief Inspector Gavin House said:
“A multi-agency search operation has been underway since Saturday evening trying to find Carvalho. Sadly, these have so far not been successful, but our searches remain ongoing and involve a range of agencies and specialist units.”
Public Help Needed
Police are appealing for anyone who saw a diver matching Carvalho’s description in the area to come forward. Officers also want to hear from anyone who was on the water Saturday afternoon and might have spotted him.
“We urge anyone with information to contact Dorset Police immediately,” added Chief Inspector House. Carvalho’s family have been informed and are receiving support from officers.
