Police Probe Shocking Rape of 13-Year-Old Girl in Totton Park
Hampshire police have launched an urgent investigation after a 13-year-old girl was reportedly raped in a Totton park on Friday evening (14 March).
Incident in Testwood Lane Park Raises Alarm
The attack is believed to have happened between 6:20pm and 8:30pm in a park off Testwood Lane. Officers swiftly cordoned off the area and began house-to-house inquiries, while scouring CCTV footage to piece together what happened.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed there is no evidence linking this to any other crimes in the region.
Detectives Reassure Community as Hunt Continues
Detective Inspector Claire Shawley, leading the investigation, said: “I know this incident is extremely concerning for the local community, and we are working hard to investigate what has happened as a priority.”
She added that the victim and her family are receiving specialist support. Uniformed officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team remain on patrol to reassure residents and encourage witnesses to come forward.
DI Shawley appealed: “I know at times like this, it is natural for people to want as much information as possible, and we will share more when we can. But I would ask you not to speculate at this time about who may be involved.”
