Arson Attack Hits Brighton Beach Patrol Base in Dead of Night
Fire Rips Through Brighton Beach Patrol Garage
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service rushed to Brighton Beach Patrol at 1:17am after a blaze broke out at their base. Photos sent to Sussex News show severe damage to the rear of the building, believed to be where key lifesaving equipment was stored.
Quad Bike and Lifesaving Gear Destroyed
The garage housed the quad bike and vital lifesaving kit used by Brighton Beach Patrol volunteers who protect vulnerable people patrolling the beach at night. The loss could hit the charity’s service hard.
Police Arrest Suspect Over Arson
A 23-year-old man with no fixed address has been arrested on suspicion of arson. A police spokesperson confirmed the arrest as the investigation continues.
Brighton Beach Patrol Vows to Carry On
Established in 2015 by Resolve Security Solutions, Brighton Beach Patrol works to save lives by preventing dangerous night-time beach incidents. Now a registered charity, the organisation remains determined despite the setback.
Brighton and Hove Council’s Seafront Office has loaned BBP a replacement quad bike while damage is assessed. BBP said: “With the support of other agencies, we are committed to keeping our vital service running.”
