Last night, a family faced every parent’s worst nightmare. They shared a heartfelt thanks to heroes who tried to save their son, Oliver, including a brave Good Samaritan, an off-duty doctor, emergency services at the scene in Bugs Bottom, Emmer 1 staff, forensic teams, and all who have supported them.
Remembering Oliver: A Unique Soul
Oliver was an enigma. Diagnosed with both autism and suspected Pathological Demand Avoidance, he was a challenge they met head-on. He was hilariously funny, charming, and beautiful – a boy who could charm with a wry smile and cheeky grin.
A Fighter’s Spirit and Big Heart
He always stood his ground, fighting for the underdog with incredible warmth, love, and wit. In his final moments, terrified but determined, Oliver fought to get home, with everything to live for.
Forever Missed
Now, only memories remain. “An Olly-sized hole has been left in our hearts,” they said. The family closed their tribute with a poignant farewell: “Gentle shoulder charge, love ya mate XXX.”
