Man Shot Dead in North Cheam Late Night Attack
Shots Fired on Quiet Street
Police raced to Brocks Drive, North Cheam, at 1:12am on Friday, June 19, after reports of gunfire shattered the early morning silence.
Tragic Scene on Brocks Drive
Officers, including armed units, found a man believed to be in his mid-20s lying injured in the street. Despite urgent first aid from police and paramedics — including London’s Air Ambulance — the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:45am.
His next of kin have yet to be informed, and formal identification is pending. A post-mortem will be carried out in due course.
Murder Investigation Underway
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard of the Specialist Crime unit has launched a murder probe. He urged:
“We are in the very early stages of our investigation. We need to hear from anyone who was around Brocks Drive at the time. Did you see anyone acting suspiciously? Even small details could be vital.”
“A man has lost his life in violent circumstances. His grieving family deserves answers, and the community can help us find them.”
Call for Witnesses
The crime scene remains sealed off. No arrests have been made as enquiries continue.
