Barrels of Stolen Diesel Seized in Harworth Raid
On 2 February, officers swooped on a house in Thornhill Road, Harworth, uncovering around 50 barrels stacked high, suspected to be stolen diesel. Inspector Hayley Crawford called for public help: “We really need the public’s assistance to help us catch up with those who are bringing utter misery to our rural communities.”
Arrests Made After Quad Bike Fuel Heist
Following an ongoing crackdown, a 26-year-old was busted and charged with theft from a motor vehicle. Special constables spotted a suspicious vehicle on the A614 Blyth Road early on 25 January. They recovered a quad bike and trailer loaded with fuel barrels.
Inspector Crawford added: “Thieves favour remote spots, so we’re stepping up patrols and crackdowns to stop them. These criminals don’t care about the damage they cause families, businesses, or drivers.”
Police Urge Vigilance in the Fight Against Fuel Theft
Officers warn thieves also threaten violence when caught. They advise drivers to park at secure truck stops and remain vigilant. “Targeting fuel theft is part of our commitment to tackle rural crime and protect our communities,” said Crawford.
