Celebrity Chef Michael Caines Donates £557 to RNLI Lifesavers

Top Chef Backs Coastal Lifesavers

Michael Caines MBE, the renowned chef behind the luxury 5-star Lympstone Manor Hotel and Mickey’s Beach Bar in Exmouth, has chipped in a generous £557.47 to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The donation came from collections at his popular venues and was personally handed over to Exmouth RNLI volunteers today.

A Cause Close to Home—and The Sea

Speaking at Lympstone Manor, Michael stressed why the RNLI is a charity close to his heart: “The RNLI is deeply rooted in our coastal communities, staffed by volunteers who risk their lives to save others at sea. With both Lympstone Manor overlooking the River Exe and Mickey’s Beach Bar on Exmouth’s seafront, supporting the RNLI just makes sense.”

He added, “As a chef, I know how crucial the RNLI’s protection is for our fishing industry, especially in Brixham and Exmouth. Trawlers can head out with peace of mind because the RNLI is there if things go wrong. It’s a vital charity that deserves every penny we can raise. Huge thanks to our customers for their amazing support.”

RNLI Thanks Supporters of Life-Saving Work

Des White, Chair of Exmouth RNLI’s Fundraising Team, praised Michael’s efforts: “We’re hugely grateful for this donation. The RNLI depends on kind donations like this to keep lifeboats running and volunteers trained. Across the UK and Ireland, over 9,000 volunteers at 238 lifeboat stations rely on public generosity to save lives.”

“Every pound counts towards maintaining lifeboats, equipment, and training that make rescues possible. A big thank you to Michael and everyone who contributed,” added White.
