Road Rage Fury on A34: Man Kicked and Head Butted in Botley Brawl
Thames Valley Police are hunting for witnesses after a violent road rage attack on the A34 near Botley.
Crash Sparks Brutal Assault
At around 3.30pm on Thursday (9/5), tempers flared between the drivers of a white Mitsubishi Outlander and a blue Toyota CHR in the 50mph zone. The pair pulled off at the A34 Northbound slip road near Botley Interchange, where their cars collided.
That’s when the driver of the Mitsubishi leapt out and launched a vicious attack, kicking the other motorist in the stomach and head butting him.
Victim Injured, Suspect Arrested
The victim, a 53-year-old man, suffered a cut lip and nasty bruises but thankfully didn’t need hospital care.
Police arrested a 64-year-old man from Faringdon on suspicion of assault causing injury. He’s been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
Police Plead for Witnesses
“I believe that a number of people witnessed this incident as it occurred at a busy time of day,” said PC Mark Russell from Didcot police station.
“Anybody in the A34 slip road area on Thursday afternoon who saw what happened should get in touch.”
