Firefighters from Isle of Wight’s Newport station raced to a garden blaze just before midnight. A massive 25×25 metre greenhouse on Palmers Road, Wootton, went up in flames as fire shot through the roof.
Swift Action Keeps Fire Contained
The owners spotted the inferno and raised the alarm. Crews wasted no time, deploying two hose reels and a powerful jet to douse the flames. Their quick response kept the fire confined to the greenhouse, preventing it from spreading to nearby property.
Thanks to the fire team’s efforts, the garden disaster was snuffed out with minimal damage. No injuries reported.
