Blaze Rips Through Crayford Home – Man Hurt
A fierce fire tore through half of the first floor of a two-storey terraced house on Maiden Lane, Crayford. The inferno sparked a massive emergency response with four fire engines and around 25 firefighters battling the flames.
Rapid Response Quells Fire in Under 90 Minutes
The London Fire Brigade got the emergency call at 9:32 PM on July 16. Crews brought the blaze under control by 10:58 PM. Firefighters from Bexley and Erith, along with Kent Fire and Rescue, all rushed to the scene.
One Man Injured, Rushed to Hospital
One man escaped the burning house with burns to his hand and smoke inhalation. He left the building before the fire crews arrived and was quickly taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
Cause of Fire Under Investigation
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Four engines and around 25 firefighters tackled the house fire on Maiden Lane. Half of the first floor was badly damaged. One man suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital. The fire was under control within 90 minutes. Fire crews from Bexley, Erith, and Kent were on scene. The cause is currently under investigation.”
