Victim Identified as Christopher Storey
Christopher Storey, a Barnston local, has sadly been confirmed as the victim of a fatal crash this morning.
Incident Details
The smash happened just before 9.40am when a blue Mercedes careered off a bend and smashed into a concrete World War II Military Pillbox on Brimstage Road. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, Christopher Storey was pronounced dead at once.
Police Investigate, Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson of the Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed his condolences. He said: “My thoughts are with Christopher’s family at this sad time. They are being supported by specially trained police officers, and I ask that their privacy is respected.”
Police are urgently seeking anyone who witnessed the silver Mercedes CLK320 en route to Brimstage Road yesterday morning. They also want local residents and businesses to check their CCTV along the car’s path—from Gayton, past Heswall railway station, to Junction 4 of the M53 roundabout where the crash occurred.
