Man Airlifted to Hospital After Horrific Leg Break in Chale
A man suffered a serious leg injury in Chale, Isle of Wight, and was airlifted to hospital this afternoon.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Paramedics were called to Spanners Close just before 4pm. On arrival, they discovered the man had slipped, breaking his leg and severing his femoral artery. The situation was critical enough to request urgent air support.
Air Ambulance and Fire Crew Called In
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance swiftly arrived to airlift the injured man for emergency treatment. Meanwhile, a fire crew from Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue in Newport helped paramedics carefully remove the patient from the property.
No Fire Involved, Confirms Fire Service
A spokeswoman from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: “A fire crew attended an address in Chale just after 4.30pm to assist the ambulance service with the removal of a patient. There was no fire at the property.”
The man remains in hospital receiving urgent medical care following the serious fall.
