Gosport Public Toilets Shut After Turning into Drug Dens
Gosport Borough Council has slammed the shutters on the public toilets behind the bus station following a horror show of drug abuse and filth. Used needles, blood, and vomit were found routinely, forcing the council to pull the plug on the facilities in Jamaica Place, near the ferry terminal.
Needles and Vomit Spark Closure
Drug users made a daily mess of the toilets, leaving behind hazardous debris and making the site a nightmare for regular visitors. The council cited “daily misuse” as the key reason for closing the toilets indefinitely.
People Sleeping Rough in Cubicles
It’s not just litter and drug paraphernalia – reports reveal individuals have even been sleeping rough inside the cubicles, turning the once handy public facility into a health and safety hazard.
Council Shocked by Condition of Toilets
“The level of filth and danger left behind has made it impossible to keep these toilets clean and safe for the public,” a council spokesperson said.
For now, Gosport locals will have to look elsewhere for their public conveniences as the council assesses next steps.
