Tragic Crash on A458 in Shropshire: One Dead, Road Closed
Shropshire police are hunting witnesses after a horror multi-vehicle smash on the A458 near Bicton. The pile-up unfolded around noon today (Friday 21 May) between the Preston Montford junction and the A5 Churncote roundabout.
Two Cars Collide, Chaos Ensues
Two vehicles heading towards Shrewsbury collided head-on. This triggered a second crash with a car coming the other way. One of the initial crash cars then smashed into a parked vehicle with a trailer.
One Dead, Investigation Underway
The driver who hit the parked car suffered serious injuries and sadly died despite paramedics’ best efforts. Emergency services shut the road both ways to deal with the chaos.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Officers urge anyone with info or dashcam video to get in touch. Contact police online or call 101, quoting incident number 272i of 21 May 2021. The road remains closed as the investigation continues.
