A Nottingham man’s cheeky confession before a stop-and-search has landed him behind bars. Kash Brookes, 34, blurted out to officers, “I’m going to be coming with you”—and he wasn’t kidding.
Sharp Turn and Sudden Stop
On the evening of 15 January, Brookes was spotted driving in Sneinton just after 7.30pm. Spotting officers from the knife crime team in a marked police car, he made a quick U-turn down Lord Nelson Street. The cops tailgated him until he finally stopped near Thurgarton Street.
Confession Sparks Big Find
“I’ll be honest with you, there’s cannabis in the car – and cocaine. I’m going to be coming with you.” True to his word, officers found a stash of cocaine, MDMA, and cannabis in Brookes’ vehicle—along with mobile phones.
Drugs Galore at Home and Behind Bars
A search of his home uncovered more drugs and dealer kit. Brookes, formerly of Thistledown Road, Clifton, pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to supplying a cocktail of Class A poisons including cocaine, MDMA, crystal meth, magic mushrooms, and 2C-B. He also admitted to dealing Class B drugs like cannabis, ketamine, and M-CAT, plus Class C drugs such as diazepam, pregabalin, tramadol, and zopiclone. On 21 April, the judge slapped him with a four-year jail sentence.
