Coordinated Search Launched Along River Medway
Emergency services mounted a major search operation near Common Creek Wharf, Rochester, late Sunday night after worries grew for a man’s welfare. The hunt kicked off just before 11pm on October 13, 2024.
Police, Coastguard, and Fire Crews Join Forces
Kent Police teamed up with HM Coastguard and Kent Fire and Rescue Service to scour the riverbank and waters. A UK Coastguard helicopter took to the skies, sweeping over the River Medway for any sign of the missing man.
Search Yields No Results, Investigation Continues
Despite the high-profile effort, the man was not found. A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended the scene and completed a search along with HM Coastguard and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Nobody was located, and enquiries are continuing into the report.”
