Sex Attacks on Women in North London Spark Police Hunt
Detectives from the Met’s North Area Command Unit are hot on the trail of a moped-riding sex attacker terrorising women in Hornsey, Crouch End, and Stroud Green. The predator targets lone females, stalking them on a moped before striking and fleeing the scene.
Six Attacks Over Six Weeks
- March 3: 23-year-old assaulted on Malvern Road, N8 at 1:17am
- March 16: 29-year-old attacked on Despard Road, N19 at 1:00am
- March 29: 22-year-old assaulted on Despard Road, N19 at 12:10am
- March 29: 14-year-old girl attacked on The Broadway at 8:45pm
- March 30: 29-year-old assaulted on Nelson Road, N8 at 10:40pm
- April 18: 19-year-old attacked on an unnamed road in N4 at 10:15pm
Suspect Description and Investigation
The suspect rides a moped with a distinctive box on the back, hinting he could be a courier, delivery driver, or fast food worker. He’s reportedly dressed in dark clothing during the attacks.
Detective Inspector Pete Dyche, leading the manhunt, said: “We are looking into possible links between these crimes and conducting urgent enquiries to catch the perpetrator. We advise anyone walking alone in the evenings to stay alert and report suspicious behaviour immediately.”
