New photos have emerged of the family dog believed to have killed 19-year-old Jamie-Lea Biscoe in a savage attack in Essex last Friday.

‘Softest’ Family Pet Turned Deadly

Police say the culprit was the seven-year-old Lurcher Cross named Shy. The dog, described as the “softest” and Jamie-Lea’s “best friend,” has been seized as evidence. Jamie-Lea’s dad, Jack Biscoe, 37, discovered his daughter collapsed in his bedroom in Leaden Roding, Essex, with fatal bite wounds to her neck late on Friday evening.

“Witnessing the horror and destruction it has caused me, it’s not worth it. Treat them as dogs, give them their beds, and be careful,” Jack told The Sun. “I thought I could trust that dog with my life, and it took my daughter’s life.”

Tragic Death Confirmed

Despite emergency services’ best efforts, Jamie-Lea was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem is set for today to confirm the cause of death.   An Essex Police spokeswoman said:

“We can now confirm that Jamie-Lea Biscoe, 19, died from injuries believed to have been caused by a dog attack. A 37-year-old man from Dunmow has been arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death. He has been bailed until July while enquiries continue. The dog, a family pet, has been seized. We believe it to be a Lurcher Cross, with tests underway to confirm the exact breed.”

Community Mourns

Locals are in shock after the tragedy. David Tregunno, Church Warden at St Michael’s and All the Angels, opened the church for prayer and reflection this afternoon as the community comes to terms with the loss.
