Fire crews raced to Recreation Ground Road on the Isle of Wight after a fire broke out just after 9.20pm on Monday. Two engines from Newport and one from Cowes arrived within minutes to tackle flames sparking in an upstairs bedroom.
Blaze Contained Before It Spread
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to douse the small but dangerous fire. Thanks to their swift action, the blaze was stopped from spreading throughout the property.
Owner Treated at the Scene
The home’s owner received medical attention from Isle of Wight ambulance crews. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
