Blaze Breaks Out in Sittingbourne Flat – Firefighters Rush to Rescue
Kent Fire and Rescue Service sprang into action after a fire erupted at a flat on Caithorpe Close, Sittingbourne, around 5:03 PM on Thursday 11th January 2024. Two fire engines were swiftly dispatched to tackle the emergency.
Firefighters Battle Flames and Save Residents
Upon arrival, crews donned breathing apparatus to fight the blaze head-on. Their quick work doused the flames and stopped the fire from spreading, preventing major damage.
The team also used a high-pressure hose reel jet and a positive-pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property, safeguarding both residents and the building.
Investigation Underway as Precautions Continue
Neighbouring houses were evacuated as a precaution while firefighters handled the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine what sparked the blaze.
