Tragic Death of Young Man Found Near Railway Lines in Green Lane
Police were called around 7pm on Monday, 8 February, after a man was found unresponsive by the railway lines in Green Lane Recreation Ground.
Despite desperate efforts by passersby and the London Ambulance Service, Alfie was sadly pronounced dead shortly after. His next of kin have been informed.
Death Unexplained But Not Suspicious
The Met Police are treating Alfie’s death as unexplained but not suspicious. A post-mortem on 15 February failed to determine the cause of death, and further tests are ongoing.
The South West Local Investigations team is leading the inquiry, working hard to piece together what happened.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Andy Griffin urged anyone who was in or around Green Lane Recreation Ground on the evening of 8 February, or who had contact with Alfie in the days before, to come forward.
“Alfie’s family, and their community of neighbours and friends are struggling with the grief of losing such a wonderful and vibrant young man,” said DI Griffin.
“We need as much information as possible to help answer the questions about Alfie’s tragic death. No detail is too small.”
