Brighton & Hove Buses Go Christmas Extra Mile with Free Rides
Brighton & Hove Buses gave holidaymakers a free ride this Christmas Day, with over 4,300 passengers jumping on board on routes 1, 1A, 5B, 7, 12, and 49. That’s a whopping 46% rise from last year!
New Coaster Route 12 Proves a Hit
This festive season also saw the launch of a new service on the Coaster Route 12, connecting Brighton, Newhaven, and Seaford. Nearly 600 travellers took advantage of this fresh link, making it an instant crowd-pleaser.
Volunteers Behind the Wheel for a Christmas to Remember
All services were commercially funded, part of Brighton & Hove Buses’ mission to keep people connected for work and social trips during the holidays. Impressively, every driver volunteered their time, with more willing hands than shifts available.
Nick Hill, Commercial Director, said: “We’re thrilled to run Christmas Day services again and to see even more people using them. We’re committed to keeping everyone connected all year and making it easier for passengers to get where they need to be at Christmas.”
Night Owls Covered on New Year’s Eve
To keep the party going, a normal Sunday service runs on New Year’s Eve, plus night buses on routes N1, N5, N7, N12, N14, and N25 will whisk revellers home in the early hours.
