A coastguard rescue helicopter and lifeboat have been scrambled to a major rescue operation seven miles off Selsey Bill this lunchtime. The emergency was triggered after two people on board a vessel were seriously injured.
Boat Fire Forces Two to Abandon Ship
The alarm was raised when the boat reportedly caught fire, forcing the two injured victims to escape using a life raft. The dramatic incident unfolded in the middle of the English Channel, close to Selsey Bill lighthouse.
