Kent Firefighters Pull Horse From Muddy Death Trap

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sprang into action after a young horse got stuck head-first in a water-filled ditch near Richborough Road, Sandwich. The 16-hand-high horse was trapped deep in mud and exhausted from struggling to escape.

Rescue Team Called In

When first responders arrived, they quickly realised the horse was in serious trouble. It was stuck up to its head and could not free itself. Officers called in the specialist Animal Rescue Unit for backup.

High-Tech Gear Saves Day

Using an all-terrain rescue vehicle, plus ropes and straps, the brave team carefully lifted the horse from the muddy ditch. The exhausted animal was then safely handed back to its grateful owner, who was on the scene.
