Brutal Assault on King Street
Two men have been locked up after unleashing a vicious, unprovoked knife and broken bottle attack in Great Yarmouth. The terrifying incident erupted in the early hours of Friday, 21 February 2025, on King Street, where police rushed to reports of street violence.
Three Victims Left Seriously Injured
The three victims suffered severe wounds, including stab injuries to their legs, an eye, and an ear. One victim, attacked as he walked home from work, revealed he now lives with “a constant sense of fear and anxiety.” All have spoken out about the lasting trauma and upheaval caused by the nightmare assault.
Quick Police Arrests Lead to Prison Sentences
The perpetrators tried to flee but were caught within the hour. Jaidon Mitchell, 22, from Stevenage, who wielded the knife, received a hefty nine-year jail term. Joshua Knight, 23, from Welwyn Garden City, was sentenced to six and a half years. Both pleaded guilty to three counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, and public order offences involving threats of violence.
Meaningless Violence Shakes Community
Neither attacker offered any explanation for the seemingly motiveless strike during police interviews. The victims say not only were their lives turned upside down, but their families and friends have suffered emotional and financial turmoil too.
