Early Hours Assault Shakes Blackwall: Man Pelted with Unknown Substance

A man was assaulted and had an unknown substance hurled at him during a wild early morning scuffle in Blackwall.

Police and Emergency Crews Rush to Scene

At around 1.40am today, emergency services scrambled to reports of a violent disturbance on Baffin Way, E14. Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived alongside teams from the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.

A 26-year-old victim was found with minor injuries but thankfully did not require hospital treatment. Initial fears of an acid attack were dispelled when the substance was confirmed to be non-corrosive.

No Arrests Yet as Police Probe Continues

Despite the dramatic incident, no arrests have been made. The Metropolitan Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up

A police spokesperson said:

“Police were called at 1.40am on Thursday, April 24 to reports of an altercation. Officers joined London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade at Baffin Way, where a man had allegedly been assaulted and an unknown substance thrown at him. The 26-year-old man received minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. The substance was confirmed to be non-corrosive. No arrests have yet been made.”
