Blaze Hits Woolwich Home: Eight Fire Engines Battle Fierce Flames

A fierce fire ripped through a house on Crescent Road, Woolwich, sparking a major emergency response last night. Around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines raced to the scene after the blaze broke out on the first floor and half the roof.

Man Escapes, Hospitalised with Smoke Inhalation

The resident fled the property before firefighters arrived but suffered from smoke inhalation. Emergency crews quickly took him to hospital for treatment.

Fire Under Control After Nearly Two Hours

The London Fire Brigade was called at 6:33pm, and crews wrestled the flames under control by 8:28pm. Firefighters from Plumstead and nearby stations joined the fight against the blaze.

Cause of Fire Still Unknown
