Two Young Men Die in Horror Car Crash
Tragedy struck just after 1.10pm when a silver Honda Civic collided head-on with a silver Toyota Proace van. The two men in their 20s inside the Civic were pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Taken to Hospital with Minor Injuries
The driver of the Toyota van, a man in his 40s from Newport, was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, roads were shut as emergency services scrambled to manage the scene and clear the wreckage. The closures caused delays but are set to lift shortly.
Police Plead for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Senior Investigating Officer, Police Sergeant Jamie Barron, said: “This is a tragic incident in which two young men have sadly lost their lives. An investigation is already underway to determine exactly what happened.”
“We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it. Do you have dashcam footage? It could be crucial.”
