Kent Police Hunt Witnesses After Cyclist Left with Severe Injuries in A2 Crash

Kent Police have launched a desperate witness appeal following a nasty collision near Ebbsfleet Valley. A cyclist suffered serious foot injuries, and a 23-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the smash.

Crash Details: Red Audi Hits Railings, Second Vehicle Flees

The crash happened around 12:25pm on Saturday, 26 April 2025, on the eastbound A2 Watling Street near the A2260 roundabout.

Police say a red Audi A1 veered off the carriageway, smashing into railings at the roundabout. A second vehicle, believed to be a BMW, was also involved but sped off without stopping.

Two Cyclists Injured in Horror Collision

  • A man suffered serious foot injuries and was rushed to a London hospital.
  • A teenage boy was hurt less severely and treated locally.

Both cyclists have since been discharged and are recovering at home.

Arrest Made – Dangerous Driving Suspected

A 23-year-old woman from Swanscombe was arrested soon after the incident on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She has been bailed pending further investigation.

Police Plead for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Investigators urge anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to get in touch. Officers are especially keen to review any dashcam footage from the scene at the time.

“We are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision and are asking members of the public who have not yet spoken to police to come forward with any information that may assist our enquiries.”
