Massive Search Underway for Missing Person on River Stour

Emergency teams have launched a huge hunt after a person vanished from a houseboat on the River Stour. Coastguard crews from Deal, Dover, and Margate joined forces with the RNLI lifeboat from Walmer and Kent Police officers to comb the area.

Kent Police were alerted just after 2.30pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022, amid growing fears for the missing individual. Dozens of emergency responders are now scouring both land and water around the scene.

A Police Search Advisor (PolSA) has been deployed to coordinate the ground efforts. Meanwhile, the UK Coastguard operations centre in Dover is overseeing the entire search operation.

The incident remains active, with Kent Police and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) approached for comment. Rescue teams are working tirelessly to find the missing person.
