Tragic Wimbledon Crash Claims Life of Eight-Year-Old Selena Lau

Eight-year-old Selena Lau has been identified as the young girl who died after a Land Rover ploughed through the fence of The Study Prep school in Wimbledon, crashing into a building during an end-of-term tea party. The heartbreaking accident shook the tight-knit community.

Selena’s family described her as an “intelligent and cheeky” girl adored by all. They shared a photo of her in her school uniform, beaming with a bright smile, while asking for privacy during this painful time.

Floral tributes have flooded the school gates with locals calling Selena a “shining star.” The All England Lawn Tennis Club’s chairman, Ian Hewitt, visited the site to express condolences. Witnesses and members of the nearby Wimbledon Common Golf Club held a minute’s silence in her honour.

Detective Chief Superintendent Clair Kelland said: “Our hearts go out to the families involved. This remains an active investigation and we are providing support to those affected.”

School and Community Rally After Heartbreaking Loss

The Study Prep school released a statement expressing “profound shock” and emphasising pupil welfare remains the top priority. The local police cordon has been lifted, but tributes and messages of support continue to appear at the scene.
