Fatal Fire Rocks Rotherfield Street
A deadly fire erupted just before 1am on Tuesday, 24th January 2023, at a property on Rotherfield Street. The London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene with four fire engines and 25 firefighters.
Emergency Services Battle Blaze, But Man Dies
Despite the heroic efforts of police, paramedics, and firefighters, those trapped in the blaze could not be saved. The London Ambulance Service also dispatched three emergency crews, a rapid response paramedic, a double-crewed ambulance, and the London Air Ambulance to the scene.
Investigation Underway as Forensics Swarm Scene
By Tuesday morning, a strong police and fire service presence remained, including several forensics officers from the London Fire Brigade’s fire investigation unit. The Met Police have been approached for further details about the ongoing joint investigation.
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: “Sadly, a man has died following a flat fire. 123 and Euston fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
