Gun Hoarder Nikodem Iwaszko Jailed for Stashing Cache of Deadly Weapons
Nikodem Iwaszko, 21, was slammed with a string of firearms charges at 1 Crown Court after cops uncovered an arsenal of illegal guns and stolen vehicles across Leicester and Wigston.
Cache of Illicit Weapons and Stolen Rides Seized
During a major police operation last year, officers from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit swooped on two garages on Kenilworth Road and Langford Way, plus Iwaszko’s home on Cross Street, Wigston.
The haul was staggering:
- Three sawn-off shotguns
- One handgun
- One self-loading pistol
- Bulk ammo
- CS spray
- Stun gun
- Two stolen cars (a BMW and an Audi A1)
- Five stolen motorbikes
Iwaszko Denied, But Evidence Was Damning
Police had been onto Iwaszko after tracking him renting multiple garages to stash dodgy goods. He tried to dodge blame by giving false details. But thorough investigation nailed him, despite his denials.
He was convicted of six counts of possessing prohibited firearms, possession without certification, ammo offences, and multiple counts of possessing criminal property. He’d already pled guilty to five counts of handling stolen goods.

Detective Chief Inspector James Avery said: “This was a detailed operation involving huge teamwork across EMSOU to recover the firearms and stolen vehicles and to secure evidence to charge Iwaszko.”
“Thanks to this intense work, numerous firearms have been stopped from falling into the wrong hands, and a dangerous individual has been brought to justice.”
“We will act on any information received and work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.”
