Blaze Hits West Brompton Basement

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters raced to tackle a fierce fire on Finborough Road, West Brompton, yesterday evening (20 March).

Damage and Rescue Efforts

The blaze gutted half of a mid-terraced house’s basement and spilled into a small part of the ground floor. Fire crews in breathing apparatus rescued a woman suffering from smoke inhalation. She was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics.

Before firefighters arrived, a man evacuated the property and was taken to hospital by the ambulance service. Three women also managed to escape unharmed.

Quick Action from Local Firefighters

The London Fire Brigade was called at 9.54pm and extinguished the flames by 11.38pm. Firefighters from Chelsea, Kensington, Battersea, and Hammersmith worked together to get the blaze under control.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

Officials are now probing the cause of the fire. No further details have been released.
