135 New Homes Planned for Buckland Paper Mill Site in Dover
Homes England, the government’s housing accelerator, has submitted plans for 135 new homes on the last part of the former Buckland paper mill site in Dover. The proposals promise a fresh, riverside neighbourhood that blends history with modern living.
Phase One: Stylish Loft Living and New Co-op Store
The first phase of the Buckland Mill regeneration preserved the historic mill building, transforming it into sleek loft-style homes alongside commercial spaces. A new Co-op store will officially open on Friday, 2 October, marking another milestone in the site’s makeover.
Riverside Revamp at the Heart of the Plans
The redevelopment targets the 2.3-hectare brownfield site with a bold plan to enhance the River Dour corridor. Proposals include new riverbanks, scenic riverside walks, natural habitats, and a pedestrian footbridge to connect the community.
Demolition Complete, Next Steps Underway
Homes England’s contractors, DDS Demolition from Kent, recently cleared the last building—the former heat and power plant—paving the way for marketing and redevelopment.
