A woman has been arrested after the heartbreaking discovery of seven-year-old Nyla May Bradshaw’s body in a pond in Doncaster. Nyla was reported missing from the Skellow area on the morning of March 30.
Nyla Found Unresponsive in Pond
Emergency services launched a massive search involving drones and police aircraft. Nyla was found face down and unresponsive in a pond on the grounds of Owston Hall Hotel. She was pronounced dead at Doncaster Royal Infirmary shortly after at 1.18pm.
Arrest Made as Police Investigate
South Yorkshire Police revealed a woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and child neglect. She has been bailed pending further inquiries. Initially, police believed Nyla’s death was non-suspicious. However, ongoing investigations led to the arrest.
“The heartbreaking loss of Nyla May has had a huge emotional impact—not just on her family and friends, but the wider community,” said DCI Gary Magnay. “Our officers continue working hard to uncover the full circumstances. We urge the public to avoid speculation on social media and respect the privacy of the family.”
