In a tense moment caught on camera, an American pilot who parachuted from a downed F-15 fighter jet in Kuwait was threatened by a local man wielding a metal pipe.
Social media footage shows a group of men closing in on the pilot, shouting and brandishing the pipe, as the airman repeatedly yells, “Back up. Stop!” The locals appear to mistake him for Iranian.
The situation cools off only after the pilot clearly states he is American, prompting the crowd to back away and leave him alone.
US Jets Mistakenly Shot Down Over Kuwait
The pilot was one of six crew members from three US jets mistakenly shot down over Kuwait on Monday. Dramatic videos showed the $90 million fighter jets spiralling out of control before crashing near a US base.
US CENTCOM confirmed all six crew safely ejected and were recovered, evacuated, and transferred to hospitals for medical checks. Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence is investigating the incident in coordination with US officials.
Mixed Reactions from Locals to Downed Pilots
While one pilot faced threats, another video captured a warmly received female pilot walking away from her downed jet with a beaming smile. A local man approached her, calmly asking, “You need something to help you?” and reassured her, “No problem, you are safe. Everything good? Thank you for helping us.”
Footage also shows the third ejected pilot walking on the ground after safely landing. One pilot was even hurried to safety in the boot of a car following their dramatic ejection.

Region on Edge After US-Iran Conflict Escalates
The incident unfolded amid soaring tensions in the Middle East. The Pentagon confirmed the death toll among US service members has risen to four following clashes with Iranian forces. Just days earlier, three US troops were killed in the fighting.
Donald Trump has said that the conflict with Iran could last about four weeks. He said, “It’s always been a four-week process… as strong as it is, it’s a big country, it’ll take four weeks – or less.”

Meanwhile, missile strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, igniting a fierce backlash against Israel, Gulf states, and oil-rich targets. The US State Department has urged Americans to evacuate 15 Middle Eastern countries amid safety concerns.

Recent attacks included a drone strike on the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia and overnight bombings in Beirut, Lebanon. Iran reported over 555 casualties with more than 130 cities under attack. Israel and Lebanon also suffered fatalities from the ongoing conflict.
