Two women stabbed in Bow

Police are investigating two possibly linked stabbings committed against lone women in Bow and are appealing for information to identify the suspect. Officers were called to, Parnell Road, E3 at 8.29pm on Sunday, 26 August to reports of a woman having been stabbed. At the scene, a 57-year-old woman had suffered a number of stab wounds. She was taken to an east London hospital by London Ambulance Service. We await an update on her condition. Two days previously, on Friday, 24 August, a woman in her 60s was stabbed in Chariot Close, E3. Her injuries, although requiring hospital treatment, were not life threatening. In both cases the suspect is described as a black male, aged around 40s, of large build with big hair who flees the scene of the attack on foot. Police in Tower Hamlets are appealing for help from local communities to identify the suspect and urge the public, particularly women, to be vigilant. A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH on Sunday, 26 August he has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
