Serious Crash on A4130: Boy on Scooter and Pedestrian Hurt
A shocking collision rocked the A4130 between Didcot and Wallingford at around 11.30am today (29/8). A van smashed into a man and a seven-year-old boy on a push scooter at the Brightwell-Cum-Sotwell junction with Slade End.
Life-Threatening Injuries for Young Boy
The pedestrian, a man in his thirties, and the young boy were both seriously injured. Medics rushed them to hospital, where the boy faces life-threatening injuries. Next of kin have been informed. Meanwhile, the van driver and four passengers walked away unscathed.
Road Closures and Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
Authorities have slammed road closures on the A4130 and surrounding junctions—Calvin Thomas Way, Slade Lane, and High Road—to carry out a full investigation. These closures are expected to last several hours, causing major disruption.
“Our thoughts are with the families of those involved,” said Inspector Simon Hills from the Roads Policing Unit in Bicester. “We are at the early stages of the investigation and urge anyone who saw the crash or spotted the van, pedestrian, or boy on the scooter beforehand to come forward.”
