High-Speed BMW Mini Chase Ends in Crash with London Bus

An intense police chase tore through Ilford late Tuesday night, ending in a crash that left a BMW Mini driver trapped in wreckage after smashing into a Route 366 bus near Beckton Junction.

BMW Mini Crashes Into Bus at 60 MPH

The dramatic collision happened on Loxford Lane around 10:48pm. The Mini, refusing to stop for undercover traffic cops flashing blue lights, barreled into the bus at speed.

Firefighters had to remove the bus’s windscreen to free the trapped driver and five passengers. Miraculously, none suffered serious injuries. London Air Ambulance HEMS medics were called to the scene to check everyone over.

Road Closures as Police Launch Full Investigation

Specialist collision investigators from the Met Police Chadwell Heath traffic unit have been dispatched to piece together exactly what happened. Road closures remain in place as they examine the scene.

The Mini’s driver was treated at the scene and rushed to hospital. His condition remains unknown.
