A murder investigation has been launched after a man was shot in Haringey, triggering a tragic loss of life. Police were alerted to the incident at Constable Crescent N15 on Monday, July 3, at approximately 5pm. Upon arrival, officers were joined by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS).
Despite the combined efforts of emergency services, the 18-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers have informed the next of kin, who will receive dedicated support during this difficult time. Formal identification is yet to take place, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
According to preliminary investigations, authorities believe the victim was riding a moped when he was shot by an assailant on an e-scooter in the vicinity of Stamford Road. Following the incident, the victim continued along Stamford Road before turning left into Constable Crescent. Due to his injuries, his moped collided with a parked car, leading to his collapse.
The rider of the e-scooter, described as a black man in his late teens or early twenties, fled the scene after the shooting. Detectives are tirelessly working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and are determined to identify and bring the responsible individual to justice.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, Specialist Crime North, expressed condolences to the family and friends of the victim, emphasizing the shocking nature of the incident, which occurred in broad daylight on a residential street. He assured the public that the investigation team is diligently working to gather information and urged anyone with potential leads to come forward, no matter how insignificant the detail may seem. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder.
