Young Man Shot Dead in Broad Daylight in Haringey

A brutal murder investigation is underway after an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in Haringey. Police were called to Constable Crescent, N15, just after 5pm on Monday, July 3. London Ambulance Service paramedics rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the victim died at the spot.

Victim Shot While Riding Moped – Chase Ends in Crash

Early inquiries reveal the teen was on his moped when he was fired at by a man on an e-scooter. The attack took place near Stamford Road. The victim tried to escape but his injuries caused him to collide with a parked car on Constable Crescent, where he collapsed.

Suspect Flees Scene – Police Hunting Young Man

The suspect, described as a black male in his late teens or early twenties, fled immediately after the shooting. Detectives are working around the clock to uncover what led to this shocking daylight attack and bring the gunman to justice.

“This is a deeply shocking incident on a quiet residential street,” said Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams of Specialist Crime North. “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victim. We urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward.”

Community Reassurances and Call for Witnesses

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, overseeing policing in Haringey, expressed her sorrow and pledged a full investigation. Local officers will be carrying out reassurance patrols and engaging with residents to gather vital clues.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has relevant information is urged to contact police on 101 quoting reference CAD 5678/3 Jul. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers.

No arrests have been made yet as the hunt for the suspect continues.
