Tragic Tugboat Capsize: Two Men Found Dead off Greenock
Around 1.40pm on Saturday, 25 February 2023, rescue teams recovered the bodies of two men off Custom House Quay, Greenock. The pair went missing after a tugboat capsized the day before, on Friday, 24 February.
Families Informed, Identification Pending
Formal identification has not yet been completed. However, the next of kin for both missing crew members have been notified of the tragic news.
Police Plea for Privacy and Support
“Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the men at this difficult time and I would ask that their privacy is respected,” said Chief Inspector Damian Kane, local area commander.
“I would like to thank the local community for their patience and support as searches were ongoing and as we continue to carry out our enquiries.”
