Digbeth Regeneration Kicks Off Levelling Up
Homes England has teamed up with Digbeth Loc Limited, led by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, to bring the BBC’s MasterChef studios to Warwick Bar in central Birmingham.
Under the deal, Homes England will lease land on Fazeley Street to Digbeth Loc, who will launch a mixed-use scheme starting with the MasterChef production hub.
Warwick Bar consists of derelict and brownfield sites around Digbeth, assembled by Homes England to spark wider regeneration.
The project promises to transform central Birmingham’s economy with around 1,000 new homes and 270,000 sq ft of employment and educational space.

Homes England is pumping £233 million into revitalising the Silvertown site in Newham, a vast brownfield area left derelict for 40 years.
This regeneration will create 6,000 new homes, cutting-edge business workspaces, cultural venues, and a lively new town centre for the Royal Docks.
The funding covers vital infrastructure, including a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over Royal Victoria Dock, Millennium Mills restoration, and essential dock wall repairs—previous obstacles to development.

Homes England and Newstead Capital have joined forces to launch a fresh £80 million development finance fund aimed at supporting smaller regional housebuilders.
With backing from Greater Manchester Pension Fund, private investors, and wealth manager Mattioli Woods, the Newstead SME Real Estate Lending Fund (RELF) will promote eco-friendly, sensitive housing projects.
The fund, managed by Newstead Capital, aims to grow to £300 million and supply £1 billion in funding over its lifetime, boosting regional jobs and housing supply.
