A blazing fire severely damaged a vital care facility, wrecking an art therapy room and forcing 21 people to miss sessions on Monday.
Day Centre Services Shut Down
Women and children’s support services, crucial for families and young people, were also cancelled due to the damage. Disability Action warned the disruption could seriously affect those who depend on these day centre services.
Second Deliberate Fire Hits Health Facilities
The Western Trust revealed this is the second deliberate blaze targeting health and care centres in the city this month. Meanwhile, several arson attacks have also been reported around the Waterside area.
Police Say Fire Unrelated to Other Arson
Despite the spate of fires, police believe this latest blaze is not linked to the other arson cases in the Waterside. Investigations are ongoing.
