Car Blaze Sparks Rapid Fire Rescue in Maidstone

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sprang into action after a car caught fire inside a garage on Swanton Road, West Peckham, Maidstone. The emergency call came in at 5:12pm on Tuesday, 23 July 2024, triggering an immediate response.

Three Fire Engines Battle Garage Inferno

Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier raced to the scene. Firefighters, kitted out with breathing apparatus and protective gear, fought the blaze with high-pressure hose reel jets. Their quick action tamed and extinguished the fire before it could spread.

One Treated, No Serious Injuries

One person affected by the fire was handed over to paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb). Thankfully, no other injuries were reported.

Blaze Deemed Accidental, Fire Safety Urged

Authorities say the fire was accidental. The swift response stopped the blaze from damaging nearby homes. Officials remind residents to practise fire safety and regularly maintain their vehicles to avoid similar incidents.
